Lenoir, NC – Mr. George William Smith, age 58, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, He was born in London, OH on December 17, 1953 to the late George Washington Smith and Lavina Golden Smith. He was married to Patricia Thomas Smith for 19 years. Mr. Smith was employed with Broyhill Furniture as a forklift operator. Other than his wife, he is survived by his son, Jordan Smith of Columbus, OH; daughter, Kelly Johnson of Manchester, OH; stepsons, Wayne Scott of Jackson, New Jersey, Tony Scott of Charlotte, NC, and Jim Scott of Charlotte, NC; sister, Dorothy Wolfe of Noblesville, IN; Half-sister, Mary Frohnauer of Grove City, OH; 4 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. A celebration of life service will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jack Wolfe, Mr. Smith’s brother-in-law, officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 prior to the service.
