Mr. George E. Stallman, age 83, passed from death unto life on July 11, 2020, from Hospice House of Lenoir. He was born in Grantsville, WV, on December 14, 1936 to the late Therman and Luerna Cain Stallman. Mr. Stallman loved his family and Lord, and for the last two years, only longed to be with his wife (who passed exactly 2 years ago.) He is finally at home with her. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ella Lea Stallman, his son in law, Kenneth Burchette, two grandchildren, Tina Woods and Kenny Burchette, and ten brothers and sisters. Mr. Stallman prior to his fight with dementia, was a devoted husband, father and grandparent, as well as servant of God. He is survived by one daughter, Margaree Stallman Burchette, five grandchildren, Stephanie Robbins, husband Matt, Sherry Hamby, husband Junior, Deedee Laws, Stephen Burchette, and Stacey Burchette, wife Valerie; great grandchildren, Sierra Vance, Courtney Caldwell, Dillon Triplette, Amber Mani, Krista Hamby, Aaron Hamby and Arianna Huggins; and six great-great grandchildren; two brothers, JR Stallman and Elwood Stallman, and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Closer Walk Baptist Church on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends and anyone wishing to pay respects that do not plan to stay, for 30 minutes prior to the service. Officiating will be Pastor Junior Hamby and Pastor Waitsel Beard. The family will hold a private burial at a later date. The family would like to express their sincere thanks for the care given to him by his “family” at Brockford Inn, and those who cared for him in his last days at Caldwell Memorial Hospital and Hospice of Lenoir.
