George Edward Coffey

Lenoir – George Edward Coffey, age 65, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. He was born in Big Stone Gap, VA on October 21, 1956 to the late Jesse and Jane Townsend Coffey. He was married to Teresa Miller Coffey of the residence for 17 years.

George was a loving husband and loved the Lord, his family and his church family at Piney Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Benson, Troy and Paul Coffey; and his sister, Nellie Coffey.

Other than his wife, George is survived by his brothers, George “Bub” Coffey and wife, Betty; Jim Coffey; Roy Coffey; sister, Gladys Coffey Estes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of George's life will be held at Piney Grove Baptist Church on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Brent Dula officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 12:00 prior to the service.
