George Lowell Andrews

Hickory, NC- Mr. George Lowell Andrews, age 77, of Hickory, died Monday, July 6, 2009 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born December 20, 1931 in Caldwell County, Mr. Andrews was a son of the late John Finley Andrews and Lucy Bean Andrews and the husband of Sue Andrews. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John Lewis Andrews, Jack Bernard Andrews, Edwin Joyner Andrews and sisters, Frances Virginia Andrews, Jewel Coffey Sullivan and Pauline Lanni. After his employment with the Merchant Marines in Cleveland, Ohio George and his wife Sue retired to Hickory. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Hickory. Surviving other than his wife are five children, James Edward Andrews, Judy Lane, Nancy McCury, Lisa Georganna and William Laos; one sister-in-law, Clara Andrews; one sister Barbara Lovins and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins A celebration of Mr. Andrew?s life will be held 2:30 Thursday, July 9, 2009 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Zella Sparks Carpenter officiating. The burial will follow in Belleview Cemetery in Lenoir. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 9, 2009 from 1:30 until 2:30 one hour prior to the service in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service.
