Gary Wayne Hendrix

Casar, NC- Mr. Gary Wayne Hendrix, age 67, of Casar, passed away Friday, June 7, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Hickory.Born February 3, 1947 in Catawba County, Wayne was a son of the late Glenn and Lillie Shook Yount. Wayne was well loved by his family and friends and all who came to know him. He is survived by his wife Diane Hendrix of the home; his daughter, Libby Yount and husband Tim and their son Logan of Granite Falls; two Brothers, Tom Shook and wife Linda and Bob Shook and wife Jean, all of Lenoir. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at 5:00 PM Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at New Life Fellowship Church in Hickory with Reverend Jimmy Duffey, Reverend Tim Shook, Reverend Carl Glover and Jason Elmore officiating.The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 until 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to Evans Funeral Service to help offset final expenses.
