Garry Lee Pope

Garry Lee Pope, age 86, of Lenoir, NC passed away unexpectedly on December 17, 2023. Garry was the oldest of 6 children born to Clyde and Virginia Pope in Caldwell County on April 30, 1938. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Judy Pope. Garry is survived by his children, Teresa Pope Bernard (Kevin), and Jason Pope (Jessica); 3 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Garry served in the United States Navy during his late teen years before becoming an electrician at Johnson Controls for over 40 years. After retiring, he loved going on drives to the mountains whether it was in his sports car or on his motorcycle. He was also a member and deacon of Clarks Chapel Baptist Church. A memorial service to honor Garry Lee Pope will be held on December 22, 2023 at 3:00pm at Evans Funeral Service Chapel. Military Honors will be provided by Caldwell County Veteran's Honor Guard.
