Gail Sanders

Hudson- Mrs. Gail Hartley Sanders, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Trinity Village in Hickory. She was born in Caldwell County on July 3, 1937 to the late Frank and Lucille Enloe. She was married to Gene Sanders of the home for 56 years. Gail was an active member at Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church for more than 19 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Gail and Gene loved going to Savannah to Christmas shop and they did so for 19 years straight. She also enjoyed Daytona Beach, Florida. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Wesley Jones and her sister, Janice Enloe. Other than her husband, she is survived by her sons, Darrell Jones and wife, Elizabeth; Regan Sanders and wife, Jodi; grandchildren, Jordan and Josh Jones; Lydia and Kelli Sanders; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Millie and Bowman Jones; brothers, Robert Enloe and wife, Ann; Steve Enloe; and sister, Linda Lipps. A celebration of Gail’s life will be held at Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 4:00 PM with Pastors Nicky Waters and Mark Dula officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery immediately following the service. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 prior to the service.
