Gail Virginia Hollaway Hartley

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Gail Virginia Holloway Hartley, age 80, of Lenoir, died Friday, January 14, 2011 at Carolina Oaks Retirement Home in Lenoir. Born March 7, 1930 in Swain County, NC, Mrs. Hartley was a daughter of the late Willard Coleman and Bertha Parker Holloway and the wife of the late Fred Gwyn Hartley. She enjoyed reading, sewing and making something new out of something old. Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Roy and Harry Holloway, one granddaughter, Tammy Denise Mikeal and a special friend, Grayson Phillips. She is survived by 7 children, Nancy Coffey and husband Larry of Lenoir; Joyce Miller of Granite Falls, Kathy Lovins and husband Bruce of Lenoir, Judy Hartley of Lenoir, Leasa H. Prestwood of Lenoir, Larry Hartley and wife Gaytha of Hudson, Willie Hartley and wife Anita of Lenoir; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Mrs. Hartley’s life will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 17, 2011 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Burial will follow in the Zacks Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at Evans Funeral Service.
