Fredrick Delane "Buddy Row" Phillips

Fredrick Delane “Buddy Row” Phillips, left this earth for his eternal home on February 24, 2021. He was born on December 10, 1962 to Fred Colbert and Nellie Marie Phillips in Lenoir, NC.He attended Gamewell Elementary and middle school as well as West Caldwell High School.He was employed at Cutters Fabric of Newton, NC before doing landscaping for several years.His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys.He also loved watching basketball.One of his favorite things to do was hanging with his nephews.He loved to dance and was always the life of the party.He was affectionately known to his nieces and nephews as “Uncle Dooya”. He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his son Fredrick Delane Phillips Jr., Seven grandchildren, Desiree, Leanna, Lleisha, Destiny, Tashanea, Eli, and Amari, 2 great-grandchildren. His sisters, Sallie (Steve) Burgess of Lenoir, Katie Phillips of Lenoir, Gloria (Clarence) Cunningham of Clinton, Maryland, Mattie Phillips of Lenoir, Alice (Hugh) Sumlin of Lenoir, Jenelle Phillips of Lenoir, Gwen Lytle of Lenoir and Felicia Booker of Lenoir; brothers, Malcolm Phillips of College Park, Maryland, Sherman Dula of Lenoir; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Resurrection Cathedral for Christ, 318 Herman Sipe Rd, Conover, NC 28613. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm. Masks will be required.
