Fred Price

Fred Willard Price, Jr., 67, of Lenoir passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson. He was born in Caldwell County on February 13, 1950 to the late Fred W. Price, Sr. and Rachel Pitts Price. He was married to Barbara Havnaer Price of the residence for 44 years. Fred was owner/operator of Price Automotive and Fred’s Off Road. He served in the Army National Guard and was a former Captain of Hudson Rescue Squad. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and sang in the choir. Fred was also a member of Lenoir Ski Club, enjoyed water sports and boating. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Maxwell Price. Other than his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Jill Francis; Lori Lynn Crump and husband, Tim; sister, Debbie Price Pennell and husband, Lee; grandchildren, Chloe, Paige, Josalyn, Noah, Taylore, Brendan, Andrew and April; sister-in-law, Rachel Haggist and husband, Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 5:00 PM with Pastor Sam Craven officiating. A private interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 prior to the service.
