Mr. Fred Clinton Hendrix, age 88, of Lenoir went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. Born March 16, 1931 in Caldwell County, Fred was a son of the late Walter and Bertha Correll Hendrix.Fred was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and served during the Korean War.He enjoyed farming and working in his garden.He was also a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Margie Beach, Charles Hendrix, Mildred Franklin, Ava Lee Maher, Jack Hendrix and Jerry Hendrix. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bonnie Herman Hendrix of the Home; his daughter, Beth Cook (husband Jeff); his grandson, Jonathan Cook (Taylor Hudgins); his great grandchildren, Paisley Cook and Piper Tarr; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Fred’s life will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 3:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hudson with Pastor Stephen Owen and Dr. Dennis Herman officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
