Granite Falls, NC- Mr. Frank Worley, age 70, of Granite Falls, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. Born September 14, 1946 in Caldwell County, Frank was a son of the late Henry and Minnie Frady Worley. Frank attended Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church. He was a Navy Veteran and served during Vietnam. During his time in the Navy, he was on board the USS Rigel and USS Enterprise. He loved fishing and on a recent deep sea fishing excursion, caught and released a sailfish. He was a member of the American Legion Post 209, an avid Tar Heels fan, and loved to play his guitar and sing gospel music. Frank’s greatest achievements were being saved by the Lord and being a mentor of the Lord for his family. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Pamela Self Worley of the home; his children, Chris Worley (wife Ann), Susan Propst (husband Andy) of Granite Falls, and Joe Worley (wife Kristi) of Portsmouth, VA; his grandchildren, April Wingler (husband Jordan), Kristi Burkett (husband Matthew), Jordyn Propst, Audri Worley, Camdyn Propst and Joseph Worley, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Caleb Foust, Kaylee Ann Wingler, Sophia Hamby, Dawson Hamby, Tucker Burkett, Maggie Burkett and Noah Burkett; he is also survived by two sisters, three brothers and numerous other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Frank’s life will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Nicky Waters officiating. The family request that you dress to honor your favorite sports team or wear Carolina Blue in honor of Frank. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 to 12:45 at the church.
