Lenoir, NC- Mr. Frank Coffey, age 71, of Lenoir, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the Wallace Thompson Hospital in Union, South Carolina. Born September 15, 1942 in Avery County, Frank was a son of the late Loyd Vines and Rosie Coffey. He worked many years as a carpenter and also served eight years in the National Guard. He enjoyed racing and will be remembered as being one of a kind. He would do anything he could to help you and loved his family very much. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Vadis Price and Robert Rich; and his step father, Leonard Rich. Survivors include his son, Mikeal Douglas Coffey, wife Barbara, of Lenoir; five sisters, Shirley Hollars, Mary Ann Gonzales, Frances Annalee Laws, Roberta Brookshire and Martha Elizabeth Ford; four brothers, Gaither Rich, Leonard Albert Rich Jr., Paul Rich and Johnny Rich; his grandchildren, Mikeal Franklin Coffey, Jacob Dale Coffey and Jaime Danielle Shew; a special friend, Rose Mary Price; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Frank’s life will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 5:00 PM with Pastor Lewis Hollars, Jr. and Pastor David Gragg officiating.
