Frances Lee Grudier

Frances (Fran) Lee Grudier, 74, of Lenoir, NC passed away at home from Cancer on August 26th, 2022. She is the daughter of the last William and Catherine Herold. She is also preceded in death by a twin sister, Dorothy Jean, and a brother, Christopher W. Herold. Frances graduated from Charleston High School in 1965. She went to nursing school at St. Mary’s in Huntington, West Virginia in 1968. For most of her working life, she worked in several hospitals in West Virginia. Frances also worked as a hospice nurse in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and in Lenoir, North Carolina. Before retiring, she also worked for Caldwell Hospice for 19 years. After retirement, Frances volunteered at the soup kitchen and was a member of the Lion’s Club. While living in Lenoir, she attended several churches. Frances is survived by her daughter, Jennifer A. Ellis (Mike). Three brothers; William S. Herold (Susan), Douglas L. Herold (Sandra), and Eric R. Herold. She is also survived by her sister Andrea L. Herold. She had three grandchildren: Cameron, Cayley, and Jackson Ellis. She had four nieces: Karen Mason, Sarah Herold, Tara Britton, and Hannah Herold. She also has four great nephews and nieces: Jocelyn Herold, Brooke and Andrew Mason, and Ezra Croley-Herold.
