Frances Elizabeth Gillett Vannoy

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Gillett Vannoy, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care due to complications of Alzheimers. Mrs. Vannoy was born in Concord, NH on September 8, 1928 to the late George and Asenath Rodliff Gillett. She was married to Reverend Hal Sherrill Vannoy for 58 years. She was member of Tabernacle Advent Christian Church for 40 years and was a former Director of Education and Nursing at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. She was a registered nurse and had previously served at New England Baptist Hospital, Wilkes General Hospital, Charlotte Presbyterian Hospital, and Hickory Memorial. Mrs. Vannoy also taught at Ferguson School. In addition to her nursing responsibilities she also found time to teach piano. In addition to her husband, she was survived by her sons, Ronald George Vannoy and David Arthur Vannoy; sister, Lillian Illsley; special loved ones, Tammy Chisolm, Charlotte Herman and Caldwell Friend, Brandy Angley. A memorial service will be held at Tabernacle Advent Christian Church on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 2:00 with Reverend Frank Hall officiating. Private interment will take place in the church cemetery.
