Frances Cook

Frances Sims Cook, 91, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Grace Village. She was born in Cleveland, MS on January 25, 1931 to the late Fred Sims and Daisy Kendall Sims.

Frances will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and her late husband, John, were assets to their Happy Valley Community and Yadkin Baptist Church family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John Wesley Cook; her oldest son, John Fred Cook; brother, C.D. Sims; and sister, Amy Sims Gregory.

Frances is survived by her sons, David Cook and wife, Becky of Lenoir; Ken Cook and wife, Barbara of Suwanee, GA; Joel Cook and wife, Gina of Whittenburg; Mike Cook and wife, Sonya of Lenoir; sister, Jeanette Fortenberry of Jackson, MS; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.

A graveside service celebrating Frances’s life will be held at Yadkin Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Stuart White and Pastor Robert Livingston officiating.
