Foy "Dillard" Kirby

Mr. Foy “Dillard” Kirby, age 82, of Patterson passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born March 10, 1939 in Caldwell County, Dillard was a son of the late Owen Wesley and Pansy Jane Cline Kirby.Dillard was a musician and wonderful guitar player.He played the bass guitar at Seeds for Harvest Church, where he was a member. Dillard was an avid hunter.Through the years he won many trophies at regional and national competitions.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Franklin and Mamie Greene; a brother, Blair Kirby. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty Bowman Kirby; his children, Regina Smith (husband Kempton) and Clarissa Robbins (husband Paul); three sisters, Naomi Greene, Rachel Griffin and Plummie Ashley; his grandchildren, James Norfleet Smith and Kaitlynn Lyra Smith; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of Dillard’s life will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Seeds For Harvest Church with Reverend Mike Owens officiating.There will be a private interment. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials made to Amorem Hospice (Formerly Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care) at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
