Floye Carolyn Penley

Floye Penley, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 3, 2024.

Floye was born on August 13, 1935, to the late Milton and Rosetta Greene Story.

In addition to her parents, Floye is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lee Penley; son, Basil Lee Penley; siblings, Blannie Whisnant, George Story, Irene Coffey, and Wanda Bell.

Those left to cherish Floye’s memory are her children, Karon Hughes (David), Steven Penley (Bethany), and Patty Ramsey (Mike); grandchildren, Josh Hughes, Laura Arndt (Chris), Jennifer Love (Steven), Jacob Penley (Taylor), Katie Bevin (James), Jordan Penley (Jessica), Chelsey Cloninger (Chris), Taylor Ramsey (Josh); great grandchildren, Jackson, Ethan and Ellie Love, David Hughes, and Juliana, Caroline and Maverick Arndt, Leah and Chloe Biven, Madeline and Avery Penley, Everette Penley, Asher Cloninger; sister in law, Geneva Jarrett; numerous other relatives; and wonderful caregivers, Janet and Gail.

Our sweet momma went home to be with the Lord.  Our hearts are so broken.  We will miss her sadly, stubborn, and funny ways.  She fought a hard fight against the terrible disease of dementia.  Momma loved us BIG and will always be in our hearts.  We will continue to take our scrunched-up nose/face pictures otherwise known as “ok everyone make a Granny P face!”  She loved her family with all her heart.  She is in Heaven celebrating with her Saviour.

Floye was a member of Hibriten Baptist Church.

A Celebration of Floye’s life will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 4:00 PM with Reverend Michael Ramsey officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Evans Funeral Service.
