Lenoir – Mr. Floyd Franklin Honeycutt, age 86, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Caldwell County on June 1, 1930 to the late William G. Honeycutt and Stella McRary Honeycutt. He was married to Nancy Kaylor Honeycutt, of the residence, for almost 62 years. He and his long-time friend, Fred McGee, were in business together for 57 years. They were known for their kindness, generosity and willingness to help everyone. The name McGee & Honeycutt Grading stood for integrity. Mr. Honeycutt attended Bethel Advent Christian Church prior to his illness. In addition to his parents, Mr. Honeycutt was preceded in death by son, Russell Honeycutt; and sisters, Reba Blancett and Faye Honeycutt. Other than his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Candy Duffey and husband, Jimmy of Lenoir; Vickie Smith and husband, Terry of Lenoir; daughter-in-law, Annette Honeycutt of Charlotte; sisters, Helen Robbins and husband, Kenneth; Lois Treadway and husband, Fred; grandchildren, Chris Brown; Shawn Brown; Megan Garrison; Trevor Honeycutt; Taylor Honeycutt; his “adopted” grandchildren, Emma and Julianna; great-grandchildren, Brittany Brown; Cierra Brown; Gabe Brown; Brady Smith; and Rylie Garrison; his long-time friend, Fred McGee; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mr. Honeycutt’s life will be held at Lenoir Community Church on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 4:00 PM with Pastor Jimmy Duffey and Pastor Jerry Burnette officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Caldwell County Honor Veteran’s Guard and N.C. National Guard. Pallbearers will be Chris Brown, Shawn Brown, Alan Reid, Brian Kincaid, Rick McGee and Stephen Smith. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 prior to the service.
