Floyd Murray Greene

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Floyd Murray Greene, age 76, of Lenoir, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at his residence. Born April 5, 1934 in Caldwell County, Floyd was a son of the late Murray Fathering and Emma Mae Storie Greene. Floyd was an electrician by trade and had worked for many years in the Caldwell county area. He was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the Bethel Advent Christian Church where he served as a deacon. After retiring, he enjoyed transporting cars, helping the Angel Food Ministries and working in his garden. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lela Greene and Lois Goins. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Joyce Evelyn Greene of the Home; a daughter & son in law, Sherry & Tracy Kincaid of Hudson; two sons & daughters in law, Harold & Lisa Greene of Mooresville, and Darrell & Deana Greene of Lenoir; one sister, Lyda Teague of Lenoir; his grandchildren, Kalie Kincaid, Hannah Kincaid, Jared & Cylie Greene, Aaron Greene, Christian Greene, David Greene, and Clinton Greene. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A celebration of Floyd’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Bethel Advent Christian Church with Reverend Jerry Burnette and Reverend Gary Teague. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery with full Military Honors. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons and a nephew, Glenn Ammons. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Evans Funeral Service from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
