Floyd Gilbert

Floyd Gilbert of Lenoir, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 08, 2022 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. Floyd previously worked for Shuford Yarn for 30 plus years. Floyd was a simple and loving man who deeply loved and cherished his family. Floyd spent his time gardening, attending cattle auctions, raising livestock, and spending time with his family. Floyd will always be remembered for having a heart bigger than he was and always helping those in need. Floyd was preceded in death by his father and mother, Clinard and Lisa Gilbert of Lenoir. Two brothers, Larry Gilbert and Roger “Leroy” Gilbert. Two sisters, Agnus Gilbert Holsclaw and Mary Sue Powell. One grandson, Zachary Raby. Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Nona Hipps Gilbert of Lenoir of 30 years. Four daughters, Kelly Gilbert Zingler of Southport, NC (Husband David Zingler), Frita Price of Morganton, NC, Rita “Tiny” Price of Cherryville, NC (Husband Shannon Tauey), and Tracey Price of Drexel. Three sons, David Reese Gilbert of Lenoir (Wife Lena Gilbert), Marc Allen Gilbert of Taylorsville, NC (Wife Brenda Gilbert) Gary Price of Drexel, NC (Wife Melanie Price). 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends and family at Evans Funeral Service located in Lenoir on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 2 pm. A memorial service will follow at 3 pm.
