Floyd Lee Crouch

Hudson, NC – Floyd Lee Crouch, age 64, of Hudson, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at his home. Born December 10, 1946 in Hickory, Floyd was a son of the late Julius Shaver and Cora Lee Kirby Crouch. After college, Floyd was an upholsterer. He had worked for Suggs and Hardin and then the Marlowe Furniture Company before opening his own shop, Country Craft Furniture & Upholstery in Sawmills. He loved building and upholstering furniture for people. He was a dedicated husband and father, and most proud to be “Paw Paw” to his grandchildren. In addition to being a dedicated “Paw Paw”, he was a faithful member of Sunrise Baptist Church for 47 years. He enjoyed serving the Lord as a RA leader, a Sunday School teacher, deacon, treasurer, bus driver, and leader of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother in law, Tula and Buck Hall; two brothers, Stanley and Ted Crouch; two brothers in law, Fred Hudler and Jerry Kanupp; and a sister in law, Mabel Crouch. He is survived by his wife, Ava Saunders Crouch of the home; a son and daughter in law, Tony and Lisa Cannon Crouch of Hudson; two daughters and sons in law, Andrea and Wayne Evans of Bethlehem, and Celena and Chad Cook of Hudson; his grandchildren, Ashley Crouch Helton and husband, Bryan, David Crouch, Catelyn Cook , Cody Cook, Colby Cook of Hudson, Nathaniel and Curtis Evans of Bethlehem; a brother Wayne Crouch of Hickory; and four sisters and brothers in law, Connie and Cecil Blackburn, Tressie Hudler, Ruth and Mack Wike, and Glenda Kanupp all from Bethlehem; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Floyd’s life will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 4:00 PM at  Sunrise Baptist Church. Officiating will be Reverend Ed Warren, Reverend Cliff Ellis, and Reverend David Woods. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the church. Memorials can be made to the Hudson Fire Department at 122 Mt.
