Floy Mae Crump

Lenoir, NC – Floy Mae Crump, age 74, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 21, 2011 in Burnsville, NC. She was born in Caldwell County on April 12, 1937 to the late James Crump and Lucy Mae Vines Crump. She will greatly be remembered for her love and charity. In 2000, Miss Crump went to Romania and Bulgaria to do mission work for her Lord Jesus Christ. She stayed a month going to Turkish, Gypsy villages. Visiting the widows and fatherless and spreading the Gospel and sharing the testimony of her salvation. Also, she took coats, shoes, sweaters, toboggans and socks as a token of love and concern that God had put in her heart to help the poor. She will greatly be missed by all the lives she touched while working with the poor in Romania and Bulgaria. To God be the glory for the life he gave her in this world and the Eternity to come. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband; her infant son, Dennis Alvarado; her brothers and sister, Glen Crump, Myrtle Crump Philyaw, Herman Crump, Billy Wayne Crump, and Doris Crump Ingram. She is survived by her children, Ronald Alvarado of Maryland; Joseph Alvarado of Burnsville; David Alvarado of Granite Falls; Mitzi Alvarado Crisp of Collettsville; Charles Alvarado of Collettsville; her brother, Haydon Crump of Hickory; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of the life she lived will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 2:00 with Pastor David McNeil and her son, Pastor Joseph Alvarado officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Abundant Life Tabernacle Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clifford, Charles, and Brandon Crisp; James David Alvarado; Raymond Phillips and A.J Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers are Taylor and Casey Alvarado. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
