Lenoir – Mrs. Florence Cooke Price, age 92, a loving mother, grandmother, sister and special person, went home on Sunday, February 15, 2015 to be with her Lord.Born January 17, 1923 in Jerome, Idaho, she was a daughter of the late Robert Millard and Winnie Deboard Cooke and the wife of the late James Alphus Price. Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Roger Cooke; three sisters, Fern Cooke, Irene Price and Carvel Eller; four brothers, Jim, Howard, Clarence and Jerry Cooke; two grandsons, Brian Minton and Clayton McGee. She is survived by two sons, Johnny Price and wife Debbie; David Price; eight daughters, Lisa Ruppert and husband David; Gail Bently and friend Worth Greene; Sue Belvins and husband Lynn; Pat Minton and husband Dennis; Sylvia Laney and husband Benny; Sandra Brown and husband Randy; Cheryl Miller; Donna Cardwell and husband Chuck; one brother, Richard Cooke; a special grandson, Tim Cooke; 23 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Mrs. Price’s life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 20, 2015 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Jerry Reeves, Reverend Bobby Pritchard and Reverend Brent Dula officiating.Burial will follow in the Price Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 PM, prior to the service. Pallbearers will be:Joshua Price, Kenneth Reid, Kyle and John Haney, Alex Price and Dale Laney.Honorary Pallbearers will be: Shane and Shawn Brookshire, Steve Price, Phillip Bently, Trevor Brookshire and Dusty Potter.
