Finley Blaine Good

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Finley Blaine Good, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Caldwell Hospice. He was born in McDowell County on January 1, 1937 to the late Horace Leonard Good and Dorothy Mae Crooks. He was married to Josephine “Jo” Duffey Good of the home. Mr. Good was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. He taught Sunday School for 28 years and attended Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Good. Other than his wife he is survived by his children, Mary Kimberly Sessions of Mt. View; Darryl Glenn Wilcox and wife, Janet of Granite Falls; Michael Blaine Good and wife, Janet of Claremont; Melody Lynn Hollar and husband, Michael of Taylorsville; and Debbie Jo Harris of Granite Falls; sisters, Linda Hildebran and Glenda Simmons and husband, Leonard of Hickory; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 1:00 PM with Mr. Good’s grandson, Reverend Tony Harris and Reverend Nicky Waters officiating. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 5:00 until 6:30 PM.
