Faye Holsclaw Faye Mathis Holsclaw, 84, of Lenoir passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014.Born Sept. 9, 1929, in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Fred B. and Lennie Henline Mathis. Mrs. Holsclaw was a member of First Baptist Church of Hudson, where she taught a Sunday School Class and sang in the Church Choir for many years.She loved her Church and especially enjoyed the Media Center.Mrs. Holsclaw was a graduate of the former Caldwell Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper for Allman-Moore Furniture in Granite Falls for a number of years until taking a job as bookkeeper for Holbrooks in Lenoir and Hickory until her retirement. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, R.B. Holsclaw, Jr. of the home; and son Steven and wife Debra of Granite Falls.She also leaves behind one granddaughter, Elizabeth DeHaan and husband Andrew; two great-granddaughters; two sisters, Virginia Beaver and husband Boyd of Charlotte, Nancy Morrison and husband Lenus of Lenoir; and one brother, Charles Mathis and wife Vickie of Granite Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Faye’s life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Hudson on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Mack Jarvis, Pastor Jim Hamby and Pastor Wade Dellinger officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Cammron Morrison, Henry Morrison, Lenus Morrison, Andrew DeHaan, Chris Dan, Alice Yount, James Cannon, Ray Green, and Loretta Buchanan. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service. To honor the memory of Faye, the family requests that any memorial be made to the Media Center of First Baptist Church of Hudson, where she was a faithful member.
