Faye Craig

Mrs. Faye Helton Craig, 86, of Lenoir passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Caldwell Hospice. She was born in Caldwell County on June 9, 1930 to the late Charles Helton and Amanda Piercy Helton. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Earl Helton and her sister, Ruth Helton Bumgarner. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Whitnel and was active until her health would not allow her to attend. Mrs. Craig is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gene Craig; daughters, Sherrie Wyke and husband, Rick; Gina Griffin and husband, Darren; grandchildren, Tangela Nichols; Todd Wyke and wife Courtney; Chad Wyke and wife, Caitlin; Kelsie Griffin and Bryson Griffin; and nine great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Craig’s life will be held at First Baptist Church of Whitnel on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Steve Hedgecock and Pastor Stuart White officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service.
