Lenoir, NC- Mr. Everette William Craig, age 88, of Lenoir, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. Born July 7, 1924 in Caldwell County, Mr. Craig was a son of the late Ed and Fannie Summerow Craig and the husband of the late Lillian Roberts Craig. Other than his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Oxentine and husband General of Lenoir and Grace Swink and husband C.L. of Mt. City, TN. Mr. Craig was a member of South Lenoir Church of God where he served as an usher. He had worked for the American Efird Mills and retired from Bernhard Furniture Company. Mr. Craig loved all of God’s creation and enjoyed working in his flower and vegetable garden. He is survived by two daughters, Martha C. Kincaid and husband Joseph of Lenoir and Ethel C. Hayes of Boone. A celebration of Mr. Craig’s life will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, August 12, 2012 at South Lenoir Church of God with Pastor Ernest Bowes officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at South Lenoir Church of God. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the wonderful caretakers, Brenda Deal, Nicole Triplett, Linda Delehanty and Cathy Philyaw for taking such good care of Mr. Craig. Memorials may be made to the South Lenoir Church of God Steeple Fund, 1786 Hickory Blvd, SW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
