Everett Eugene Haney

Lenoir, NC – Mr. Everett Eugene Haney, age 78, of Lenoir, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Born April 14, 1935 in Mitchell County, Mr. Haney was a son of the late William Clifford and Rosa Peterson Haney and the husband of the late Nelda Lou Thompson Haney. Other than his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gordon Haney, one sister, Zena Haney Price and two brothers, Paul Haney and Jim Haney, mother n law, Florence Ballew Thompson, and father n law, Claude Thompson. He is survived by two sons, Cleland Haney and wife Pat of Linville; Claude Haney of Knoxville, TN; 5 sisters, Doris Morgan and husband Terry of Gamewell; Rita Barger of Hickory; Louise Messer of Gamewell; Zula Robbins of Gamewell; Reba Greene of Granite Falls, one brother, Vaughn Haney of Gamewell, two Grandchildren, Brandi Haney and Paige Haney and many other relatives close neighbors and friends. A celebration of Mr. Haney’s life will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Tabernacle Advent Christian Church with Reverend Frank Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 until 4:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at the church.
