Evelyn Hendren

Evelyn Hendren, 81, passed away on January 5, 2019 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care of Lenoir. Evelyn was born on May 26, 1937 in Macon County, Georgia to the late James and Lorene Peek. Evelyn was married to the late Rev. Floyd Hendren for 57 years. She attended Waterlife Church. Evelyn was a dedicated employee of KFC and CWS Fashions for many years and had several short stories published. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. In addition to her husband and parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her brother, Lawton Peek and a younger sister, Wanda Prestwood. Evelyn is survived by her children: Floyd R. Hendren; Debra H. Greene; and Virginia Eller all of Lenoir. Evelyn leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she loved and adored. Evelyn, also, is survived by many beloved brothers and sisters. There will be a funeral service to celebrate Evelyn’s life on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 11:00 am; officiating will be Rev. Chris Eidse and Rev. Ricky Eugene Greene. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service.
