Lenoir– Mrs. Eurline Lewis Martin, age 81, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Caldwell County on December 8, 1933 to the late Thurman S. Lewis and Wilma Hurley Lewis. She was married to Ralph Eugene “Curly” Martin, of the home, for 59 years. Mrs. Martin was a long-time member of First Advent Christian Church where she was active in the prayer chain ministry. She retired from AT&T after 25 years of service and then began perfecting her skills in canning, cooking and baking. She loved to not only cook for her family but for others, as well. Other than her parents Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her sister, Inez Lewis Booth. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Jan Martin Cantor and husband, Neil; sister, Mildred Helms and husband, Tom of Indian Trial, NC; brother, J.R. Lewis and wife, Charlotte of Lynchburg, VA; granddaughter, Sarah Cantor Broyhill and husband, Jason; great-grandson, Jackson Broyhill; and numerous other family members. A celebration of Mrs. Martin’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 3:00 with Pastor Bob Hodges and Pastor Brandon Waters officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Belleview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Barry Hodges, Jon Younce, Mark Younce, Roger Reid, Danny Coffey, Adam Waters and Boyd Triplett. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 prior to the service.
