Eugene Simes

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Eugene Byrd Simes, Jr., age 47, of Lenoir, died early Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Eugene was born on March 18, 1962 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to the late Eugene Bird and Elsie Violet Ream Simes, Sr. Mr. Simes was a member of the Walking by Faith Baptist Church, where he helped with the church?s youth group. He enjoyed singing and spending time with his grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Karen Simes of the home; two daughters, Brittany Simes and Cindy Simes both of Lenoir; three sisters and brothers in law, Lori and Keith Howell, Bonnie and Tom Shimko, and Jessie Gallup; two brothers and a sister in law, Vern and Beth Ream, and David Ream; two grandchildren, Marybeth Simes and Carl Hise; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A Celebration of Mr. Simes? life will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the Walking By Faith Baptist Church with Reverend Marvin Ford officiating.   Interment will follow the service in the Walking By Faith Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Preston Laws, James Townsend, Russell Townsend, William Woods, John Ford, Alan Berry, Jesse Reynolds, and James Crump. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the church.
