Esther Pritchard Lewis

Esther Lewis Lenoir, NC- Esther Pritchard Lewis, age 76, went to heaven on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Gateway Nursing Center surrounded by her family that loved her dearly. She was born in Caldwell County on June 18, 1937 to the late Bill Pritchard and Crettie Huskey Pritchard. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Ralph Barrier; first husband, Bill Shatley; brothers, Elmer, Millard, Willard, and John Pritchard; and sisters, Lee Franklin and Wilma Whisnant. Esther is survived by her children, Jim Barrier and wife, Pla “Susan”; Cindy Barrier and Dan; Donald Shatley; Lisa Gurley and husband, Tommy; grandchildren, Jamie Barrier; Justin Barrier; Stacy Barrier; Phil Barrier; Nicole Benfield; Josh Gurley; Brandon Moore; Dylan Gurley; great-grandchildren, Hailey Brooke Moore and Nathaniel Surratt; sister, Cora Barrier; special niece, Vickie Hurley; and numerous family members. Esther’s burial will be private. The family will be gathering at the home of Tommy and Lisa Gurley.
