Esther Eggers Eckenrod

Lenoir, NC – Mrs. Esther Eggers Eckenrod, age 85, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice. She was born in Watauga County on August 9, 1927 to the late Jim and Martha McGuire. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Estel Eggers and her second husband S.F. “Buck” Eckenrod; brothers, Francis McGuire, Bill McGuire, Odell McGuire, Ernest McGuire; and sister, Edna Henson. She is survived by her sons and their wives, David and Melissa Eggers; Jimmy and Susie Eggers; Ted Eggers; her daughters and their husbands, Margie and John Dotson; Amy and David Brown; step-daughters and husbands, Ann and Bob Llora; Jolene and Clint Williams; brothers, Tam McGuire and wife Bernie; Jack McGuire and wife Ellen; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, April 1, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Lenoir. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Sunday, March 31, 2013.
