Esta Correll

Esta West Correll of Caldwell County was reunited with her loved ones in Heaven on June 10th, 2023. Born to Floyd and Lila West on January 27, 1928, she grew up in the Oak Hill community. She was an example of kindness and strength. Known for her love of gardening and giving spirit, she will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years Charles David Correll, her parents and step-mother Mildred West, her brothers Eugene, Jack, Paul, and A.D. "Pete" West and her sister Freida West Bellew.

Esta is survived by her children, Sherry McMillan (John) of Lenoir, Deborah Ayers of Marion, Lisa Hendricks (Melanie) of Hickory, and Martha Barrier (Kevin) of Fort Myers, Florida; Four grandchildren, David McMillan, Misty Hensley (Marcus), Krystle Barrier, Ben Barrier; two great-grandchildren, Tori Hensley and Kyuss McMillan; siblings Michael and Chris West; sisters-in-law Bo West and Janie Correll; and brother-in-law, Charles Hathcock; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Esta’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Thursday, June 15th, 2023 at 11:00 am, officiated by Reverend John Jernigan. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am -11:00 am prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Belleview Cemetery.
