Ernest Jenkins

Mr. Ernest “Bob” Finley Jenkins, age 77, of Lenoir passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson. Born May 15, 1943 in Wilkes county, Bob was a son of the late John and Essie Lowe Jenkins. Bob enjoyed reading, woodworking, working on old cars and motorcycles. Bob was a retired Army veteran with 23 years of service. He then served in the National Guard. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas Edgar Jenkins, John Henry Jenkins and Charlie Edward Jenkins; and a sister, Brenda Jane Jones. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Peggy Ann Pope Jenkins; a son, Robbie Jenkins; a sister, Linda Eller (husband Homer); two grandsons, Jerred Austin Hubbard and Jacob Cody Jenkins; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A graveside memorial service celebrating Bob’s life will be held on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tom Hunter and Rev. Alan Gaylord officiating. The family would like to request that everyone attending dress casual.
