Eric Matthew Potter

Eric Matthew Potter, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 27, 2025, at his Lenoir residence.  He was born in Caldwell County on March 4, 1965, to the late John O. Potter and Carolyn Snyder Potter Conaway.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Mark Potter.

He is survived by his children, Dusty Potter of Delaware and Erica Potter of Wilkesboro, his grandchildren, Sa’rai, Kinzlee, Thomas, and Maddox.  Also surviving are his brothers, Johnny Potter, Luke Potter, and John O. “Joe” Williams, all of Lenoir, his sisters, Reta Eller of Yadkinville and Wanda LaGamba of Hickory, aunts, Gladys Wade of Lincoln, Delaware and Mary Dunn of Mountain City, TN.

Eric spent much of his adult life in Delaware before moving back to Lenoir several years ago.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.  He enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes.  He was baptized in the past couple of years and that gave him great comfort and peace.  Eric was deeply loved as a brother and friend.  He will be sorely missed.

No services are planned at this time, but a private family service will be held at a later date.
