Elsie Walker

Mrs. Elsie Woodie Walker, age 89, of Hudson passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Morganton Long Term Care. Born January 31, 1931 in Caldwell county, Elsie was a daughter of the late Isaac Mack and Mary Church Woodie.Elsie enjoyed line dancing and working with crafts, especially painting.She was an active member of the Tabernacle Advent Christian Church.She had served as a Sunday School teacher and a deaconess.Elsie spend over 52 years working for Ellis Hosiery (Catawba Socks).In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Walker; three brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her son, Ronnie Walker; a sister, Patricia Carr (husband Mike); a brother, Carrol Woodie (wife Jean); a grandson, Ronnie Walker, Jr.; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A graveside service celebrating Elsie’s life will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Tabernacle Advent Christian Church Cemetery with Reverend Bob Copeland officiating.
