Elsie Barnett Barlow

Lenoir – Mrs. Elsie Barnett Barlow, age 93, of Lenoir, passed away Wednesday, January 07, 2015 at Lenoir HealthCare in Lenoir.Born July 26, 1921 in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late George and Myrtle Grubb Barnett and the wife of the late Clinton Barlow. Mrs. Barlow was a loving mother who loved cooking and feeding her family.She will always be known for her generosity and her love of making baby quilts. Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Surface, a son, Jerry Barlow, one brother, Jack Barnett and one sister, Margaret McGee. She is survived by 3 children, Janette Greene and husband Jack of Hudson; Marjorie Greene and husband Troy of Lenoir; Curtis Barlow and wife Cathy of Hickory; 4 grandchildren, ChadBolick of Hildebran; Jessica Barlow of Hickory; Caren Hartley and husband Mark of Boomer; Mark Greene and wife Krystalof Granite Falls and 5 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, January 9, 2015 at Kings Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Randy Goode officiating. The family respectfully requests memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
