Ellen Kincaid Merrill

Burlington – Mrs. Ellen Kincaid Merrill, age 61, of Burlington, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill. Born January 19, 1955 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, she was a daughter of the late Howard C. and Billie Craig Kincaid. Ellen was a dedicated teacher who touched many lives of children throughout her teaching career. She loved her family and her “grand puppies.” Anyone who knew Ellen knows her enjoyment of Pink Flamingos and shopping with her girls at the beach. She is survived by her husband, Keith Allen Merrill; two sons, David Nathan Merrill and wife Anna of Burlington and Dr. Nicholas Merrill and wife Rebecca of Burlington and cousin who Ellen considered a sister, Laura “Arie” Owens and husband Butch of Lenoir. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Evans Funeral Service in Lenoir from 5:00 until 6:30 PM followed by a Graveside Service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Reverend Rene Easter officiating.
