Hudson, NC- Elizabeth ?Lib? Anne Wilson Pipes, age 85, of Hudson, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Lenoir Health Care. Born January 21, 1924 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Pipes was a daughter of the late Rufus H. and Edna Abernathy Wilson and the wife of Ted Channing Pipes, Sr. of the home to whom they were married 61 years. Mrs. Pipes was retired from Connie Lee Hosiery Outlet and a member of College Avenue Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Elizabeth Pipes and a sister, Alma Wilson Caudle. Surviving other than her husband are two sons, Richard Wilson Pipes and wife Susan Mullinax Pipes of Lenoir; Ted ?Chan? Channing Pipes, Jr. of West Jefferson; 4 sisters, Thelma Beach and Alta Faye McGowan, both of Raleigh; Emily Joyce Blackburn of Redding, PA; Evelyn Jean Smith and husband June of Lenoir; one brother, Joseph Wilson and wife Jennie of Lenoir; and 4 Grandchildren, Hannah Pipes, Hunter Pipes, Jesse Pipes and Chelsea Pipes. A celebration of Mrs. Pipes? life will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 6, 2010 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend David Everette officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:30 until 3:00, prior to the service at Evans Funeral Service & Crematory. Pallbearers will be: Jesse Pipes, Hunter Pipes, Bill Pipes, David Pipes, Kenny Smith and David Blackburn.
