Elbert Frank Greene Jr.

Elbert Frank Greene Jr., age 83, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on March 29, 2023. Frank, “Frankie” was born on March 22, 1940 to the late Elbert Frank Greene Sr. and Jessie Hamby in Caldwell County, North Carolina. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Greene; brothers, Cevil Greene and Ed Greene; sister, Marlene Honeycutt. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lisa Greene; son, James Greene; sisters, Willie Mae Hege, Betty McKinney; brothers, Vernon Greene (wife, Rosa), Jerry Greene (wife, Kay), Larry Greene (wife, Thelma), and Tommy Greene (wife, Diana); and numerous nieces and nephews. Frankie loved Nascar racing, bluegrass music and other hobbies. He was a faithful member and Elder of Oakwood Presbyterian Church in Lenoir. He was a Veteran of the NC Army National Guard, and retired from Fairfield Chair in Lenoir. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Evans Funeral Home in Lenoir with Pastor Phillip Adams officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.
