Edward Rose

Mr. Edward Lee Rose, age 81, of Hudson passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Hickory Falls Health and Rehabilitation. Born November 8, 1938 in Avery County, Ed was a son of the late Theodore and Lucille Dillard Rose. Ed was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a member of Gideon’s International. Ed enjoyed playing golf and bowling. Ed will be remembered for his passion of being a master carpenter. In addition to his parents, Ed was also preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Howell and Edna Chatham; a brother, Jimmie Rose. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Joann Thomas Rose; a son, Martin Rose (wife Joi); a daughter, Dawn Fox (husband Tim); his grandchildren, Jessica Rose, Dylan Rose, Karey Rose, Eric Fox and Lindsay Matthews; three great grandchildren, Hatley Fox, Leila Courtney and Avery Matthews; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Ed’s life will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 6:00 PM at Meadowbrook Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Beck officiating.
