Lenoir, NC- Mr. Edward ?Paw? Bruce Franklin, age 82, of Shaire Center Drive, died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born May 11, 1924 in Burke County, Mr. Franklin was a son of the late Bo and Daisy Mae Vance Franklin. Mr. Franklin was retired from Broyhill Furniture, Lenoir Chair One. He had served in the U.S. Army during WWII with tours in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He received the American Theater Campaign Medal, the EAMET Campaign Medal with 5 bronze service stars and the Victory Medal. He is survived by his wife, Annie Mae Atwood Franklin of the home; three daughters, Barbara King of Sawmills, Patricia Storie and husband Larry of Hudson, Pamela Beane and husband Robert of Granite Falls; one son, Eddie D. Franklin and wife Vicki of Hudson; one sister, Wilma F. Helton of Jonas Ridge; 6 grandchildren, Brian King, Willie Storie, Keesha Franklin, Annie Deal and husband William, Justin Haas, Brandon Beane and three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Breanna and Peyton. Other than his parents, Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 3 brothers. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Poovey?s Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Nicki Waters officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 5, 2006 from 10 until 11, one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be: Larry Storie, Willie Storie, Robert Beane, William Deal, Jon Smith and Matt Gragg. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Franklin and Justin Haas.
