Earnest 'Sonny' Smith

Lenoir – Ernest “Sonny” Paul Smith, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. He was born in Caldwell County on March 16, 1940 to the late John Edward Smith and Annie Lou Reid Smith. Sonny is survived by his son, Jason Smith and wife, Ashley of Granite Falls; sisters, Vera Dula of Ferguson and Helen Green of Lenoir; brothers, Michael Smith and wife, Peggy of Collettsville and Jerry Whisenant and wife, Becky of Hudson; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his extended family in Florida. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
