Earl L. Effler, Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Gateway Nursing Center. He was born in McDowell County on May 7, 1938 to the late Arnold and Audrey Effler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Effler; sons, John Paul Effler and Timothy Allen Effler; grandson, Stephen Joseph Effler; brother, Charles Effler and sister, Barbara Effler Bryant; son-in-law, Jerry Cole; and Teresa Cole. Earl is survived by his daughter, Angela Murasky and husband, Bruce; sons, Earl Effler, Jr. “Butch” and wife, Rebecca; Bill Effler; sister, Pat Webb; sister-in-law, Jean Effler; grandchildren, Nolan Cole; Heather Suttles; Holly Rhodes and husband, Chris; Lacey Effler; Ryan Effler and wife, Kathy; Matthew Effler and Andrew Effler; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Earl’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Bill Bentley officiating. Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
