Hudson, NC- Mr. Doyle Wayne Hollar, Sr., age 70 of Hudson, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 in Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Born March 29, 1937 in Caldwell County, Mr. Hollar was a son of the late David O. and Martha Gragg Hollar and the husband of Mrs. Linda Laws Hollar of the home. Mr. Hollar was a member of Setzer?s Creek Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church of Hudson where he regularly volunteered in the nursery department. He was retired from Singer Furniture. Other than his wife he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Drs. Wayne and Jeannie Hollar of Lenoir; his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Brian Higgins of Shallotte, seven Grandchildren; Jayne and Blair Hollar; Marybeth, Heather, Michael, Benjamin and Kristina Higgins; three sisters, Opal Bowlin of Newton; Mary Williams and Shirley Bumgarner of Lenoir and two brothers, Marvin Hollar of Newland and O.D. Hollar of Charlotte. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Ray, Coy, Henry and Thomas Hollar. A celebration of Mr. Hollar?s life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 30, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Hudson with Dr. Wade Dellinger officiating. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 PM at Evans Funeral Service in Lenoir.
