Doyle "Ricky" Austin

Mr. Doyle “Ricky” Austin, age 64, of Lenoir passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Grace Hospital in Morganton. Born July 14, 1953 in Caldwell County, Ricky was a son of the late Doyle and Christine Townsend Austin.Ricky enjoyed going to car shows and cruise ins. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Charie Phillips Austin; his two daughters, Beverly Rash (husband Jeff) and Traci Effler, both of Lenoir; two brothers, Larry Austin of Lenoir and Ronnie Austin (wife Loretta) of Granite Falls; three grandchildren, Tori Rash, Justin Pitts and Kelsey Pitts, all of Lenoir; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Ricky’s life will be held at Welcome Home Baptist Church at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 with Pastor Brooks Kirby officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The family requests that those attending the service bring their antique car in tribute to Ricky.
