Douglas (Doug) Walsh Earp

Granite Falls- Douglas “Doug” Walsh Earp, age 59, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Frye Regional Medical Center. He was born in Wilkes County on August 9, 1954 to the late James Warren Earp and Anna Mae Walsh Earp. He was married to Diane Earp of the residence. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant son, Jerry Lee Earp. Other than his wife he is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Earp Williams and husband, Jamie; son, Terry Earp; step-son, Jeremy Funderburk and wife, Christy; sister, Jane Nichols; brothers, Kenneth Earp, James Earp, Dickson Earp and Randy Earp; grandchildren, Drake and Lincoln Funderburk; Riley Watson; and Tyler and Luke Williams. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 2552 Boomer Road, on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Tim DeBord and Ricky Earp officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ricky Earp, Robert Earp, Ronnie Earp, Jimmy Earp, David Earp, Daniel Earp, and Terry Ward.
