Douglas Grant Small, 69, of Lenoir, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care- Robbins Center.He was born December 17, 1951 in Caldwell County to the late Carroll and Jewel Small.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Lynn Small; two brothers, Butch Small and Jerold Small; and sister, Peggy Sams. Survivors include his wife, Delores “DeeDee” Small; four sons, Douglas Allen Small and wife Maria, Joel Jeremiah Small, Elijah Shay Small, and Nicholas Carroll Small; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Tony (Doris) Laws, Linda Price, and Mrs. Kenny (Gail) Murphy; one brother, Dennis Small; and numerous nieces and nephews. Doug loved life.He loved his grandbabies and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing Elvis.He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Steelers fan.He was an outstanding man, husband, father, brother, and friend.He loved God and he will always be loved and missed. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, January 18, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Calvary Advent Christian Church conducted by Reverend Jim Lee. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm at the church prior to the service. Due to Covid-19, face mask and social distancing will be required.
